Constructive Feedback I

Course description

Constructive feedback 1 is a one-day intensive course from TTA. The course will help you as a professional deliver and receive feedback in a way which leads to positive personal and organizational development. In this course you will look at the different considerations involved in 360 degree feedback – to junior, peers and senior staff – and how to set and accomplish goals in various situations. Language input is functional and focused on giving feedback in ways which are most likely to avoid conflict and produce results. The course is very practical in nature and participants have ample opportunity to practice and use the techniques in the group.

Course objectives

• to learn about the aims and possibilities of giving and receiving feedback
• to develop skills of giving feedback in a way which leads to desired changes in performance
• to look at differences in approaches to feedback when dealing with people at different levels of relative seniority
• to provide and practice the functional language skills necessary for giving feedback in a way which will be heard and is likely to be acted upon

• ability to recognize and use appropriate feedback strategies in a wide range of situations
• active listening to help the feedback recipient know that their opinions are valued
• ability to concisely state the goals as a result of feedback sessions
